YAMCoH Club

Good midnight to you and welcome back to the Young American Mystic Cult Of Horrors Club.

It’s Monday! And that means it’s time that “you shall enjoy being horrified to the point of sheer panic” with a new horror trailer culled from the musty, murky depths of the super spooky YouTube.

Here’s a couple of quick things I learned about MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE (1986) thanks to Wikipedia:

In a 2002 interview for the book Hollywood’s Stephen King, King stated that he wascoked out of [his] mind all through its production, and [he] really didn’t know what [he] was doing.'”

A radio-controlled lawnmower used in a scene went out of control and struck a block of wood used as a camera support, shooting out wood splinters which injured the director of photography, Armando Nannuzzi. As a result of this incident, Nannuzzi lost an eye. Nannuzzi sued Stephen King on February 18, 1987 for $18 million in damages due to unsafe working practices. The suit was settled out of court.

Well, you know what they say…

Anyway, I’m sure it’s no surprise to y’all that I actually like MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE…and that Green Goblin truck was pretty boss.

Of course we all know that AC/DC was King’s favorite band and that he used them exclusively for the soundtrack.
