Between my cousin and I, we had some of the coolest 70s toys mothers could buy…and I thought a few of them would make a good edition to the Action Figure list.
Oh, just to let y’all know, I have nothing to do with the original 100 list other than being a fan.
Today I present:
Mattel’s BIG JIM AND THE P.A.C.K.
Big Jim was a total man’s man that liked playing sports, judo chopping shit and hanging with his best buds Big Jeff, Big Josh, and Big Jack. The boys all had “Big Jim Body Action” and cool accessories like, karate boards, machetes, denim vests, axes, and sportsbooks.
There were a variety of outfits, playsets and vehicles as well…but shit got really awesome when Big Jim assembled his elite group of bad-asses called:
My favorite was Torpedo Fist…The man with the dynamite arm!
“Torpedo Fist was a Navy pilot. He lost his right arm fighting a shark off Ceylon, and was rescued by local fishermen. Then he got himself a new arm and a dynamite fist.
Torpedo Fist resembles a bad guy, but he belongs to the good ones. That gives much presence to the character. Torpedo Fist seems to have a long and mysterious history behind him, like a master mariner.
Torpedo Fist action figure came with telescope right arm lashing out when pushing button in the back, boots, pants, flight cap and tank top.” –www.big-jim.eu
